Giulia Barbati is a researcher in Medical Statistics in the Department of Medical Sciences at the University of Trieste since 2016. She graduated in statistics at the University of Rome “Sapienza” in 1999, and after a period abroad (2000-02 post-lauream grant at University of Lausanne, Switzerland) she completed her Ph.D. in 2006 in Functional Neuroimaging at the University of Chieti, Institute for Advanced Biomedical Technologies (ITAB). Her research interests are focused on survival analysis methods, regression techniques for longitudinal data, joint models for longitudinal and time-to-event data. Moreover, she is interested in statistical methods and tools for exploiting informational content of health care administrative data and in machine learning algorithms for risk prediction in large datasets.
