Specialization: Computational Cosmology

The specialization in Computational Physics focusses on computational approaches in physical sciences, with a particular focus on solid state physics and physics of the atmosphere.  


Courses of the specialization

Compulsory courses:

  • Introduction to Cosmology [1]  (1 CFU, I semester, II year)
  • Galaxy Astrophysics [2]  (6 CFU, I semester, II year)
  • Formation of Cosmological Large-Scale Structures [3]  (6 CFU, I semester, II year)
  • Radiative Processes in Astrophysics [4]  (6 CFU, II semester, II year)

At least 6 CFU at your choice from the following courses:

  • Computational Physics Laboratory [5] (6 CFU, II semester, II year)
  • Simulation of Multibody Systems [6] (6 CFU, II semester, II year)
  • Probabilistic Machine Learning [7] (6 CFU, II semester, II year)
  • Parallel Programming for HPC [8] (6 CFU, II semester, II year)

This specialization in recommended only to students with a bachelor in Physics.
